ONE-WAY TICKET

– To make one trip, either outward or return
– With a price that changes according to the line chosen
– It can only be purchased on the bus and with cash

 

Important:
On the bus, the ticket can only be paid in cash with notes up to €20. If the transport tickets cost more than €20, the use has the right to use a note of up to €50 (Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands num. 24 19/02/2015).

TRANSPORT CARDS

– To use any of the significant discounts on the price of a single ticket.
– These can only be obtained at the Citizen’s Advice Service (SAC) of the Menorca Island Council.
(SAC).

Who is it aimed at?
Users that aren’t covered by the T-Més and T-Jove profiles.

 

What are the benefits?
– It allows for the T-10 and T-40 season tickets to be loaded at the same time. Up to three different season tickets can be loaded at the same time.
– It allows the user to obtain the discounts for transport if they are a member of a large family (familia numerosa) applied with these season tickets.

 

When does it expire?
– I doesn’t ever expire.

 

Members of large families: the discount expires when the large family (familia numerosa) discount expires and it can be renewed by presenting a certificate that is in force and accredits that they are still part of a large family.

 

Where are they issued?
In any citizen’s advice service (SAC) of the Menorca Island Council.

 

How much does it cost?

– The first issue is free.
– If the card is lost, damaged due to improper upkeep or broken, the holder must pay the corresponding fee for a duplicate copy to be issued. They will be exempt from paying the fee if the card doesn’t work for reasons that are not the fault of the holder.

 

What documents are needed to obtain the card?
– A photograph of their card; not necessary if the card is issued directly at the Citizen’s Advice Service.
– A photocopy of their ID card or other ID document.

 

Members of large families (familias numerosas): they can obtain additional discounts to the season tickets by presenting a copy of their large family certificate along with the application.

 

 

TYPES OF SEASON TICKET

 

T-10
– 10 trips that expire after 100 days, counted from the first day on which they are used.
– For sporadic public transport users.

 

T-40
– 40 trips that expire after 60 days, counted from the first day on which they are used.
– For daily public transport users.

Who is it aimed at?

Users who are retired or pensioners, the unemployed or people at risk of social exclusion or disabled people who meet any of the following requirements:

 

a- They have a certificate confirming their disability, issued by the assessment and orientation team at the base centre in Palma, with a degree of disability equal to or higher than 65%.

 

b- They have acknowledgement of reduced mobility issued by the assessment and orientation team at the base centre in Palma.

 

c- They have acknowledgement of a learning disability issued by the assessment and orientation team at the base centre in Palma.

 

What are the benefits?
– It allows the holder to use public transport with 50% discount on the price of a single ticket.
– It allows the user to obtain the discounts for transport if they are a member of a large family (familia numerosa) applied with these season tickets.

 

When does it expire?
La expiry date of the card will depend on the requirement stipulated for it to be issued:

 

a. People with disabilities: It expires on the next review date for the disability certificate and can be renewed by presenting the relevant renewed disability certificate. In the case of permanent disability, the card must be renewed every 5 years, presenting the valid document that accredits the user’s identity and the relevant disability certificate.

 

b. Unemployed people: It expires every three months and can be renewed when the certificate for the Balearic Island Employment Service (SOIB) is renewed accrediting their situation and providing the certificate that states that they have an income no higher than the minimum inter-salary wage (SMI) 2016.

 

c. Persons in situation or at risk of social exclusion: This expires every six months and can be renewed by providing a certificate from the social services from the holder’s local council accrediting this situation.

 

d. Retired people or pensioners: This expires every 5 years and can be renewed by providing a valid document accrediting the user’s identity.

 

* Members of large families: the discount expires when the large family (familia numerosa) discount expires and it can be renewed by presenting a certificate that is in force and accredits that they are still part of a large family.

a. For people residing in Menorca with a disability, they must attach the following documentation to their application:

– A copy of the documents accrediting the requirements stipulated:

– A certificate confirming their disability, issued by the assessment and orientation team at the base centre in Palma, with a degree of disability equal to or higher than 65%.
– Acknowledgement of reduced mobility issued by the assessment and orientation team at the base centre in Palma.
– Acknowledgement of a learning disability issued by the assessment and orientation team at the base centre in Palma.

 

b. For people residing in Menorca who are currently unemployed and that have an income no higher than the minimum inter-salary wage (SMI) 2016, they must provide one of the following certificates:

– Receipt of job-seekers allowance for an amount no higher than the minimum inter-salary wage (SMI).
– Receipt of other benefits also for amounts no higher than the minimum inter-salary wage (SMI).
– Registration with the Balearic Island Employment Service (SOIB) that they are looking for work but receive no benefits.

 

c. For people in a situation or at risk of social exclusion residing in Menorca:

– A certificate from the social services from the holder’s local council accrediting this situation.

Users under the age of 22 and students up to the Age of 30 that can prove they are regularly attending a higher or university level education in a town/city/village other than where they live.

 

What are the benefits?

– It allows the user to load T-21, T-10 and T-40 season tickets simultaneously; up to three different season tickets can be loaded at the same time.
– It allows the user to obtain the discounts for transport if they are a member of a large family (familia numerosa) applied with these season tickets.

 

When does it expire?

– When the user turns 22.
